I am back from Florida. And it was fabulous. I wish I could have stayed longer--maybe until Christmas break.
Here's a new quote for you:
"It's a sign of mediocrity when you demonstrate gratitude with moderation." -Roberto Benigni
I don't know how many of you are familiar with Roberto Benigni, but he is an Italian director/actor who created the movie "Life is Beautiful" (if you have never seen this movie, you need to stop right now, go to your Netflix account, and put it at #1 in your queue immediately.) He received an Oscar for the film, and he delivered what was quite possibly one of the best acceptance speeches ever. He was so excited, I thought he was going to explode. He was a huge bumbling ball of energy and gratitude that seemed ready to spontaneously combust with happiness. I have never before, or ever since, seen someone so grateful and happy to receive something.
It was truly beautiful. And I think it's a great model for us in how we show our appreciation to others.
Have a wonderfully wet Tuesday.
